The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) committee will include league executives, team owners, general managers, and player representatives coming together to discuss the WNBA league, women’s sports, and the intricacies of organizing and backing a basketball league. Delegates will debate pressing issues, including navigating its growing popularity, discussing the financial future, and clarifying the consequences of the newly announced expansion. Aiming to balance business interests, player advocacy, and the growth of women’s professional sports, the Commission challenges delegates to envision the future of the WNBA.

WNBA is a committee suited for intermediate delegates, but is open to delegates of all experience levels wishing to challenge their capacity as delegates. The committee is conducted using regular Rules of Procedure. Position papers are recommended but not requireds for this committee.

Questions, inquiries, and position papers for this committee can be emailed to wnba@cahsmun.org.

Caitlin Lim | Director

Senior; Richmond Christian School; Struggling; Caitlin is clicking her heels with joy serving as the Director of the Women’s National Basketball Association. Since its grim origin in the basement of the Sheraton Wall Centre, Caitlin’s Model UN journey transformed her into a public speaking fanatic. Whether it was vouching for state-mandated haircuts as North Korea, inventing cloning to win a war, or spending the closing ceremony at CAHSMUN 2025 watching the NCAA Women’s Basketball finals (Go Huskies!), MUN has brought countless beloved memories and friendships. Beyond the broken elevators, locked staircases, and windowless committee rooms, Caitlin can be found lamenting over her ailing knees, yelling “WALKING” on a pool deck, or watching The Rookie. She’s excited to create an unforgettable experience at the best iteration of CAHSMUN yet!

Brandon Yu | Chair

Currently a Grade 11 student at Magee Secondary School, Brandon is honoured to serve as one of the chairs of WNBA at CAHSMUN 2026. His journey began two years ago when he attended his first conference and discovered a vibrant community of splendid individuals, dedicated to addressing global challenges all in one committee room. He still remembers how in his first MUN conference back in grade 9, he spent two days to finally gain the courage to spit out one sentence. Looking past the intense debates, MUN has helped Brandon cultivate unforgettable memories and friendships. Outside the conference, Brandon can be found playing badminton, spending time with friends, and playing deepwoken. At CAHSMUN 2026, he eagerly anticipates a weekend filled with memorable experiences and riveting debate.

Jolie Wang | Chair

As a grade ten student at Crofton House School, Jolie is beyond ecstatic to serve as Chair of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) at CAHSMUN 2026. After giving her very timid speech at her first conference in grade 8, Jolie has been captivated by this dynamic event that builds global awareness, diplomacy, and leadership through debate and collaboration. From midnight resolution planning to passing 1000 directives, Jolie truly cherishes all the priceless memories she experienced from MUN. Outside of the committee room, Jolie can be found perfecting her artpieces, grinding at a dance studio, giving her dog countless bellyrubs, or eating haidilao with her friends 24/7. Jolie Looks forward to meeting every delegate and making CAHSMUN 2026 an unforgettable memory!
