The UNODC is a United Nations body founded in 1977. Its objective is to address drug, organized crime, and terrorism issues on international and national scopes. Delegates in this committee must navigate through a complex web of political, economic, ethical, and social barriers to resolve pressing current issues.

As a Specialized Agency, UNODC is a committee best suited for delegates of all experience levels. Both committee topics use Regular Rules of Procedure. Though not mandatory, position papers are highly recommended for all delegates, and are required to be considered for awards.

Questions, inquiries, and position papers for this committee can be emailed to unodc@cahsmun.org.

Alexander Hsiao | Director

Currently in his Grade 10 year at Vancouver College, Alexander is excited to serve as the Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for CAHSMUN 2026. Dragged by his friends into his first committee room, he has since been captivated by the spirited debate, collaborative problem-solving, chaotic discussions and the lack of sleep that conferences always seem to inevitably foster. Outside of MUN, Alexander can be found around Vancouver hiking and riding his bike, playing badminton and golf, trying different bubble tea spots, and obsessively scrolling on Instagram at midnight. Alexander looks forward to helping make CAHSMUN 2026 an engaging, rewarding, and truly unforgettable experience for all participants and wishes every delegate the very best of luck.

Wilson Li | Chair

Currently studying at St. George’s school and entering his Junior year, Wilson is delighted to serve as the Chair of UNODC at this year’s exciting iteration of CAHSMUN. Starting MUN when he was in 6th grade, Wilson has always been extremely passionate about public diplomacy and attended many conferences as a delegate as well as a staff. From being a timid speaker to now a quite passionate one, he hopes to spread his enthusiasm and energy to every single delegate in the committee. Outside of the conference room, you can find Wilson rowing with his crew, collecting records, as well as listening to his favourite bands. At the upcoming iteration, Wilson awaits a weekend of intense debate and is excited to meet all the delegates!

Alice Zhu | Chair

An aspiring Grade 10 student at Crofton House School, Alice is ecstatic to serve as Chair of UNODC for CAHSMUN 2026! Aside from the countless sleepless nights and stress-inducing headaches from writing resolution papers, Model United Nations has truly become one of Alice's lifetime soulmates. She is thrilled and cannot wait to witness the heated debate that will take place. She highly encourages delegates, especially those new to MUN, to speak up and courageously step outside of comfort zones during the conference! Outside of the committee room, Alice can be heard, or found frantically preparing for public speaking tournaments and struggling with her contacts. Obsessed with peach RedBull, you will most definitely find her with some over the duration of the conference. She wishes all delegates the best of luck for a weekend of heated debate!
