Starbucks Corporation is a multinational conglomerate that specializes in coffee. With over thousands of global locations along with drinks ranging from coffees to seasonal specials, Starbucks is one of the largest coffee companies in the world. However, it has also come under scrutiny for its company practices. Delegates in this committee must design creative solutions, discuss strategic business decisions, and engage in exciting debate.

As a Specialized Agency, Starbucks is a committee best suited for intermediate and advanced delegates interested in coffee, business, and the ethics of the industry. Starbucks is a hybrid committee, offering one topic in Regular Rules of Procedure and one topic in Crisis Rules of Procedure. Though not mandatory, position papers are highly recommended for all delegates, and are required to be considered for awards.

Questions, inquiries, and position papers for this committee can be emailed to starbucks@cahsmun.org.

Topic A: Corporate Rebranding

Guntas Bawa | Chair

Guntas, currently a year 2 IBDP student at Abbotsford Senior Secondary School, is honoured to serve as one of the chairs of Starbucks at CAHSMUN 2026. After her first ever conference in 2023, Guntas was captivated by MUN. From passionately defending PFUDOR as the Delegate of Quackraine in traditional ECOSOC, to orchestrating top-secret mafia balls as a 62-year-old retired Mafia boss in quirky WCC, Guntas has experienced the full spectrum of Model UN’s unpredictable, exhilarating debates. For her, these moments that blend strategy and a touch of absurdity, are what make MUN irreplaceable compared to ordinary debates. When not navigating the world of diplomacy (or duck-based defense strategies), Guntas may be found daydreaming of bubble tea or playing jazz tunes on her guitar—her two favorite escapes from the gruelling demands of the IBDP. Overall, Guntas hopes to make CAHSMUN 2026 a memorable iteration filled with fruitful debate for all!
