Topic [CRISIS]: The Second Titanomachy

Alexander Hsiao | Director

Currently in his Grade 11 year at Vancouver College, Alexander is excited to serve as the Director of the Olympian Council for CAHSMUN 2026. Dragged by his friends into his first committee room, he has since been captivated by the spirited debate, collaborative problem-solving, chaotic discussions and the lack of sleep that conferences always seem to inevitably foster. Outside of MUN, Alexander can be found around Vancouver hiking and riding his bike, playing badminton and golf, and studying in Kerrisdale, all while he has bubble tea (MACU!!) in one hand. Alexander looks forward to helping make CAHSMUN 2027 a truly unforgettable experience for all participants and wishes every delegate luck. Godspeed.

Lucy Deng | Chair

Entering Grade 12, Lucy has been involved in Model United Nations since Grade 9. From her first real conference representing Micronesia to her most recent representing China, her MUN journey has been embarrassing, chaotic, and unforgettable. Throughout the years, she has developed a genuine interest in diplomacy and international relations, learning everything from country stances and global issues to the fun of negotiation and collaboration. More importantly, MUN has given her countless friendships and memories that she will always cherish. After four years of learning and growing through MUN, Lucy is beyond excited to continue her journey as a Chair at CAHSMUN 2027!

Gemma Shen | Chair

A Grade 10 student at York House School, Gemma is thrilled to be serving as Chair of the Olympian Council at the 2027 iteration of CAHSMUN. Gemma began her MUN journey in Grade 7, raising her placard a shocking total of two times. Since then, she has come a very long way, forming blocs, giving passionate speeches, and being rage-baited by crisis updates. Beyond the committee room, Gemma can be found anxiously playing with her Needohs at debate tournaments, creating secret cults during outdoor education, and embracing her inner theatre kid. Ultimately, she hopes every delegate leaves the Olympian Council with a newfound appreciation for diplomacy, new friendships, and plenty of memorable debates.
