Ivy Lin

Secretary-General

Now a senior at Crofton House School, Ivy has taken over 210,000 steps within the 55,000 square feet of meeting and event space that the Sheraton Wall Centre offers over the past three years of her Model United Nations career. Not even that time her family decided to explore Yellowstone National Park entirely on foot —which spans a casual 8,991 km²— did she surpass those numbers. Whether it’s a show of her dedication to Model United Nations or just an uncanny attachment to the Sheraton Wall Centre, Ivy couldn’t be more excited to spend another 72 hours in the Wall Center in April of 2026 as the Secretary-General of CAHSMUN 2026. Ivy has gone from being the kid that purposely uses the washroom during round-tables to sitting behind the dais table and calling upon delegates, and truly found her community. Outside of MUN, Ivy can be found running alongside the seawall or sharing her Subway footlong sandwich with Sophie. She looks forward to her final chapter in high school MUN at CAHSMUN 2026.

Sophie Xu

DSG-External

Accepting her fate as a senior in Richmond Christian School, Sophie continues her Sheraton Chipotle picnic journey as the Deputy-Secretary-General of External Affairs. Copy pasting her older sister’s extracurriculars, Sophie stepped into the emotional rollercoaster that is Model UN; from turning the entire committee against the delegate of USA to exploiting a Martian civilization for “good business”, her experiences have only pushed her passion for this sport further. As a kid who would never speak up in class, she never would have imagined whimsically skipping to the intense committee sessions and gleefully participating in the spontaneous and fast-paced nature of Crisis committees. Apart from waiting for the hotel elevators, Sophie can be found splurging on IDW comics, downing ice cream at Timothy’s with Thomas, rolling out, rising up, and most importantly, executing Order 66. Even if CAHSMUN executes her sleep schedule, she hopes the sacrifice results in an enjoyable, unique, and unforgettable conference in 2026!

Thomas Li

DSG-Internal

Now in his senior year at St. George's School, Thomas is eager to immerse himself in one final round of high school Model United Nations. Ever since his first conference, CAHSMUN Horizons, which he joined just to have a sleepover with his friends, he has had an insatiable urge to pursue all the charm that fast-paced committee debates, heated arguments over resolution papers, and shared sleep deprivation come together to offer. As the Deputy Secretary-General of Internal Affairs now for this year, Thomas looks forward to helping the conference run to its fullest potential, making the sect team even tighter than it already is, and meeting all the delegates at CAHSMUN and CAHSMUN Horizons. Outside of the carpeted hallways of the Richmond Conference Centre and the Sheraton Wall Centre, Thomas can be found cafe hopping in any of the cafes across the city in a relentless pursuit of the perfect lock-in location, biking around the greater Vancouver area, or at the Vancouver Curling Club perfecting his throwing technique. Him and Jessica both love Italian food, and his favourite restaurant is Buca di Roma at Arbutus Ridge!

Jessica Wang

Chief of staff

A senior currently attending Semiahmoo Secondary School and enrolled within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Jessica is beyond thrilled to serve as the Chief of Staff for the twenty-second session of CAHSMUN. Since beginning her Model United Nations journey all the way back when she was a shy, timid ninth grader being kindly advised (read: coerced and threatened) to join her school’s Model United Nations club, Jessica can now say with confidence that stepping foot into her first, packed, 40+ people, club meeting was the best thing that has ever happened in her life. Beyond teaching her how to stay up to unhealthy hours and drink excessive amounts of Strawberry Açaí Refreshers and Orange Sparkling Celsius, Model United Nations has ultimately shaped Jessica as a person: teaching her how to have a life outside 800 page long Biology textbook PDFs and forcing her to hold actual conversations with actual people about things not actually related to how horrible the last math test was. Outside of Model United Nations, Jessica can be found doomscrolling YouTube videos on 2x speed, fighting for her life during yoga classes, and dragging Olivia to Boston Pizza. Jessica looks forward to meeting everyone in person this April and cannot wait to see everyone’s efforts come to fruition!

Olivia Xing

Director of logistics

Grinding through her junior year at Crofton House School, Olivia is honoured to serve as the Director of Logistics for CAHSMUN 2026. Ever since joining her first Model UN conference purely for the joy of speeches, arguments, and people in suits, Olivia’s relentless involvement has given her not only countless lessons in diplomacy and debate, but also some of her most cherished committee-room memories (most of which suspiciously involve a stuffed cow). Beyond the world of MUN, you’ll find Olivia refining her debate style, perusing short story collections for interpretive reading pieces to use for public speaking competitions, and spending time baking for friends, family, and charities – possibly setting women’s empowerment back 50 years with the sheer amount of time she spends in the kitchen. And if she’s not in committee or wrestling with her favourite KitchenAid stand mixer, she’s probably with Ivanna getting takeout from her favourite Vancouver spot, Nemesis, purely for the serotonin boost she gets from their blue smiley-face packaging. Olivia looks forward to meeting everyone in April and wishes each delegate the best of luck!

Ivanna Tung

USG Conference

A beleaguered student in her senior year at Richmond Christian School, Ivanna Tung is absolutely jubilant to serve as the Under-Secretary-General Conference for CAHSMUN 2026. Despite not even owning a blazer for her first conference, Ivanna has kept pushing to improve her delegating skills (and selection of Western Business Attire) throughout her Model United Nations journey. Over the past three years, Ivanna has made priceless friends and memories; from late-night walks around Downtown Vancouver to murdering numerous presidents, Model UN has truly been a defining factor of her high school career. When Ivanna is not tripping on her way up to the podium, she can be found saying "please" and "thank you" to her favourite generative AI assistant (don't wanna die), adding to her ever-increasing collection of pens and notebooks (currently at 110 pens and 23 notebooks), or eating her way through Metro Vancouver, occasionally with Shuyou—especially at Katsu San. Ivanna is practically bursting at the seams in anticipation of CAHSMUN 2026 and hopes every delegate has the time of their lives at the last hotel conference of the year!

Caitlyn Chen

USG General Assemblies

Heading into her senior year at Southpointe Academy, Caitlyn is thrilled to be serving as the Under-Secretary-General of General Assemblies (what a tongue twister) for CAHSMUN 2026. Ever since she got dragged into her first conference in Grade 8, where she participated in heated debates, passed notes, and counted down the seconds until she could get out of her business attire, MUN has been a passion that continues to grow. Morning Starbucks runs, late night arguments about shows (team Conrad all the way), and the long hours debating has allowed her to form friendships that last long after the conference has ended. Outside of the committee room, she can be found playing basketball, with her nose in a book, trying not to wake up her sleep-deprived family while practicing clarinet at 1AM—usually unsuccessfully—or wandering the streets of downtown Vancouver, looking for new places to eat. Despite this continuous search and Kelly’s endless recommendations, she always goes back to her favorite bakery: Small Victory. Caitlyn can’t wait to welcome all delegates in April for her final MUN experience at CAHSMUN 2026!

Kelly Mao

USG Specialized Agencies

Kelly is jubilant, felicitous, sanguine, galvanized, exultant, jocund, rapt, ardent, and overall pretty stoked to be serving as the Under-Secretary-General Specialized Agencies (also a tongue-twister) for CAHSMUN 2026. This year she is, unbelievably, a senior at Semiahmoo Secondary. As this is a biography, it is only right to pay homage to Kelly’s first model United Nations conference—in which she amassed about thirty-four seconds of speaking time, wrote two directives, and potentially contributed to the United Nation Security Council’s dismantling. Since then, she has amassed far too much speaking time, written countless directives, and definitely contributed to ChairMUN’s downfall—with said speaking time. Outside of MUN, Kelly is usually pre-writing directives for the next decade’s worth of crisis committees. Outside of that, she can be found playing RIOT games; enforcing unsolicited grammar policing; laughing at her own—allegedly—bad jokes; and running out of adjectives. She can also be found at Steve’s Poké with Shuyou.

Shuyou Wen

USG OUTREACH

A junior at St. George’s School, Shuyou is honoured to serve as the Under-Secretary-General Outreach for CAHSMUN 2026. Beginning his Model UN journey in the common area outside of his grade 7 classroom, Shuyou is immensely grateful for the knowledge and skills he has accumulated in his MUN experience, and more importantly all the amazing people he has met. Upon stepping into his first conference, he was instantly captivated by the dazzling atmosphere of debate and nuanced research needed in each paper. While he enjoys the fun aspects of MUN (like sneaking out to order Japadog), Shuyou also appreciates the importance and benefit of genuine discourse in today's world—the most important of which being the curation of genuine empathy and kindness for others. Beyond invaluable new friendships, MUN has also inspired Shuyou’s interest in International Relations, leading to a revamped bookshelf with a new magnum opus front and center: a cracked spined copy of John Mearsheimer’s The Tragedy of Great Power Politics. Outside of MUN, Shuyou can be found bruising his heels triple jumping, annotating his treasured copy of Philip Freeman’s Julius Caesar, and being overwhelmed by Sanskrit declension patterns. He also can be found in Kentucky Fried Chicken with Richard at times. Shuyou hopes all delegates have a fantastic time at CAHSMUN 2026 and looks forward to meeting everyone. Alea iacta est!

Richard Li

USG Delegate Affairs

A junior at St. George’s School, Richard is delighted to serve as the Under-Secretary-General of Delegate Affairs for CAHSMUN 2026. His MUN journey began in the cramped hallways of his 7th-grade cafeteria, where he, armed with a crumpled background guide and way too much confidence, stumbled through a 20-second speech before running back to his circle of friends. His experiences sparked his passion for political science and his realization of the need for plurality of perspectives. Outside of committee sessions, Richard spends his afternoons wrestling with Handel arias, Schumann lieder, and the occasional comic skit of his own inventions (often sounding more like a dying duck than an Opera singer). When not rehearsing Schubert or researching whether cups have political rights, he can be found restaurant-hunting. His favorite restaurant (from a not-so-curated list of 150+ restaurants) is Elisa Steakhouse in downtown —in which he once bumped into Michael. Richard eagerly anticipates April to meet all of the like-minded delegates at CAHSMUN 2026!

Michael Zhao

USG Marketing

As a junior at Lord Byng Secondary, Michael is thrilled to serve as the Under-Secretary-General marketing for CAHSMUN 2026! His journey at MUN began at CAHSMUN Horizons 2024 as a photographer, and he has been coming back ever since, returning year after year to make opening and closing videos. Once, he even lived a double life; he delegated and produced the closing video at the same conference! Outside of MUN, Michael is seen eating, eating, eating, creating art, taking photos and videos, grinding Valorant, and eating. Again. When not doing any of the above activities, aside from the obvious, Michael can be seen savoring life-changing meals at his number one spot (this pick is taken from a specially curated list of 50+ restaurants, ranked on a 10 point scale with decimals to the tenth). His favourite restaurant is… *drumroll please* Elisa steakhouse in downtown —in which he once bumped into Leo and Richard enjoying a nice dinner together. He doesn’t visit too often though, as the place terrifies his wallet. Michael cannot wait to welcome and create replacement placards for the delegates in April at CAHSMUN 2026!

Leo Tu

USG IT

Unwillingly heading into his senior year at St. George’s School, Leo is honoured to serve as the Under-Secretary-General Information Technology for CAHSMUN 2026. Though he was blinded by the not so bright lights, and navigated through the hotel to his first committee session, all while failing to make a single coherent speech throughout the 3 days of his first conference conference, he has not become well-established in the world (or community) of Model United Nations. Since his hesitant and chaotic start to his MUN marathon at CAHSMUN Horizons 2023 —of which included mis-matched socks— Leo has learnt to enjoy the unique atmosphere of MUN conferences. Today, he even enjoys the deafening table-banging or containing his laughter in front of thousands of people while holding a flag. Outside of MUN, Leo can be found analyzing innovative ways to improve branding and market strategies or forcing Ivy to grab Indian food at Lila Restaurant with him on Main street!
